General Store

The Pioneer Village is home to 13 historical sturctures that have been carefully restored and preserved.  These structures include a schoolhouse, church, general store, blacksmith shop, and a citrus packing house, among others.  Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the village and explore each of these buildings, each with its unique history and significance.

One of the highlights of the Pioneer Village is the authentic Seminole chickee, a traditional Native American structure that was used for shelter.  Visitors can learn about the Seminole tribe's rich history and culture, including their traditional way of life, through exhibits and guided tours.

Church

Another fascinating aspect of the Pioneer Village is the "Cracker House", a traditional Florida-style home that was popular in the late 1800's and early 1900's.  The Cracker House is a unique feature of Florida's architecture, with its high-pitched metal roof, wrap-around porch, and wooden construction.  Visitors can explore the Cracker House and see how early Floridians lived, worked, and played.

House

In addition to the historical buildings, the Pioneer Village also features a working replica of a sugar cane mill.  Visitors can learn about the process of sugar cane cultivation, from planting and harvesting to processing and refinement.

Throughout the year, the Pioneer Village hosts events and activities that highlight Florida's history and culture, including heritage festivals, live music, and craft fairs.  These events provide an immersive experience for visitors, allowing them to interact with local artisans, musicians, and historical reenactors.
